 A small village in southern France Lozere is in the heart of the Cevennes National Park (Cevennes) just 35 minutes from Monte-equal (Mont-Aigoual) with amazing surroundings as Gorges du Tarn, the mysterious caves Avend Armand and Dargilan, happiness underground river (Abime of Bramabiau) and awesome landscapes seen from the top of the Causse Mejean around the Causse Black (Noir). According to data collection was 825 people in 2010.

 

Meyrueis began its foundation with Gallo-roman origin in the end of prehistory then  medieval times is road through trade with business exchange between the region of Auvergne and the department of Lower-Languedoc (the way Ferrat) at this time appears the famous  Saint Michel celebration that was the completion of payments, contracts and salaries of the time, Payment day. A landscape preserved its Causes and Cévennes Mountain and its agro-pastoral activity are classified in the world heritage site since 2011. It is very common to find the sheep, goats, horses in these landscapes that still preserve their tradition. There is diversity of wildlife, including birds and reindeer that are highest on the Causes and Cevennes.

 

The nature and architecture of Meyrueis and Lozere department,  highlights the style of their houses are grouped, small stone, isolated farms, water points to the flock, green valley’s  adorned with large rocks or mystical rocky mountains which in the past were under the sea, the Causes Black (noir) and the Causse Mejean.

 

It is a perfect place for summer holiday, many activities, sports hiking, swimming, tennis and lots of bowls (petanque). The festivities of the town are very nice in summer, varied live music, traditional food cuisine, the aligot-Merguez, diversity of its meat,  the freshness and flavour of your salads without forgetting the artisan products such as jams, pates, cheeses, etc. The restaurants and hotels offer excellent quality and service, the Hotel de France, Hotel Europe, hotel Monte Aiogual, Sully, the Estaminet, etc.. And,  on the middle of the town Jeff's Pub where you can enjoy a friendly atmosphere, friends, a conversation or just an appetizer. The friendliness and politeness of the local people create the perfect combination of nature and tradition for a wonderful stay in a remote part of France
